Manually remove Covenant Eyes
Date Added: 9/27/2014

How to manually remove Covenant Eyes version 4.4.9.1968

I did this successfully on 9/14/2014 and wrote down the steps I took (file names may be slightly off)

OPEN Task Manager
KILL Covenant Eyes.exe
KILL Covenant Eyes Helper.exe
DELETE C:\Program Files\Covenant Eyes\
DELETE C:\users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\CE\
DELETE C:\users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\CE\
DELETE HKLM\Software\Covenant Eyes\
DELETE HKCU\Software\Covenant Eyes\
DELETE HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ {5AC5ED2E-2936-4B54-A429-703F9034938E} (your GUID may be different)
RUN netsh winsock reset
REBOOT

If you still cannot connect to the internet (I did not have this problem):
RUN netsh int ip reset reset.log hit
REBOOT

Now your browsers should all work normally. If you want, you can now install Covenant Eyes again.

That's it!

How to prevent someone from removing Covenant Eyes:
Most of these steps require administrator permissions on the computer. To prevent someone from removing the filter, just make sure their Windows user account is not in the Administrators group, and that they cannot guess the administrator's password. Even then, it's possible with the right tools (free) to reset the administrator's password without having to know what it was, or to trick Windows into elevating a regular user account to have administrator rights, so you should check on the computer occasionally to make sure the filter is still working. Hopefully, if someone does remove the filter, you'll notice that you have stopped receiving logs from them.
