If you get this error when opening the Task Scheduler: The selected task {0} no longer exists. To see the current tasks, click Refresh Then that means there are traces of those missing tasks in the registry that need to be deleted. 1) Go here: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tree\ 2) Compare the list of keys here with the list of tasks showing in the Task Scheduler program. 3) If you see a key in the registry that does NOT show up in the Task Scheduler, delete that registry key. 4) Immediately, without any reboots, the problem is fixed. You should now be able to refresh the Task Scheduler view without any errors. 5) If those tasks are important, you should re-create them now.
