Manually remove Covenant Eyes

How to manually remove Covenant Eyes version 4.4.9.1968

I did this successfully on 9/14/2014 and wrote down the steps I took (file names may be slightly off)

OPEN Task Manager
KILL Covenant Eyes.exe
KILL Covenant Eyes Helper.exe
DELETE C:\Program Files\Covenant Eyes\
DELETE C:\users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\CE\
DELETE C:\users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\CE\
DELETE HKLM\Software\Covenant Eyes\
DELETE HKCU\Software\Covenant Eyes\
DELETE HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ {5AC5ED2E-2936-4B54-A429-703F9034938E} (your GUID may be different)
RUN netsh winsock reset
REBOOT

If you still cannot connect to the internet (I did not have this problem):
RUN netsh int ip reset reset.log hit
REBOOT

Now your browsers should all work normally. If you want, you can now install Covenant Eyes again.

That's it!

How to prevent someone from removing Covenant Eyes:
Most of these steps require administrator permissions on the computer. To prevent someone from removing CE, just make sure they do not have administrator permissions and cannot guess the administrator's password. Even then, it's possible with the right tools (free) to reset the administrator's password without knowing it, so you should check on the computer occasionally to make sure the administrator's password has not changed. Hopefully, if they do remove CE, you'll notice that you have stopped receiving logs from them, and now you know what to check!
